International Internships
International Hospice and Palliative Care Internships
Global Partners in Care (GPIC), an affiliate of Center for Hospice Care, offers a limited number of international internships focused on palliative care delivery. All positions for the 2025-2026 school year have been filled.
Since 2017, Global Partners in Care has hosted motivated, compassionate undergraduate and graduate students in public health, medical and other clinical fields. These interns have made meaningful impacts in countries like Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Ghana.
While primarily research- and/or experiential learning-based, Global Partners in Care interns have worked in a variety of roles to help increase access to palliative care. For example, some of GPIC’s partners have needed assistance in developing social media programs and advocacy initiatives.
When available, internship options may include contributing to existing programs, assisting in the development of new programs, developing advocacy and educational resources and assisting with training programs.
Global Partners in Care has also hosted several students with a strong interest in palliative care. Working domestically, they have had the opportunity to develop professional skills in research, analysis, organization and communications, particularly writing. Their work has included researching and developing white papers, position papers, concept notes and briefs on a variety of topics related to advocacy for and delivery of palliative care
Reminder, all positions for the 2025-2026 school year have been filled.
